INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION FOR

NALS of GREATER KALAMAZOO SCHOLARSHIP

This application must be fully completed with the exact required instruments attached to the application submitted to NALS of Greater Kalamazoo.

1.         Attach an official transcript of grades.

2.        Attach a one-page letter of recommendation addressed to NALS of Greater Kalamazoo from the student’s current major teacher or counselor stating:

A.        Applicant’s activity and leadership record.

B.        A description of applicant’s personal traits, character, personality, drive and home background.

C.        Reasons this applicant should be awarded this scholarship.

3.        One additional letter of recommendation from someone other than a member of the applicant’s family, such as an employer, teacher, pastor, or friend may be submitted if applicant so desires but is not required.

4.        Attach a typed autobiographical statement no longer than three pages including information about schools attended, employment experience school activities (honors, clubs, choir, band, sports, etc.), outside activities (church, civic, community service), accomplishments (awards, languages, etc.), family background, hobbies, and describing briefly applicant’s career goals and desires.  Also include information in this statement indicating how you intend to pay for your college education.
