NALS is dedicated to enhancing the competencies and contributions of members in the legal services profession.

NALS focuses on keeping its members current with changes and updates to the law that impacts their profession and its members' knowledgable performance through resource materials, seminars, and webinars; in addition to monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings, all with current continuing legal education, ethics, and grammar topics.

Members receive a monthly newsletter called "The Pleadings" from NALS of Greater Kalamazoo with information relative to the greater Kalamazoo area; a quarterly newsletter from NALS of Michigan called "The Official Record" with state-wide information; and from NALS...the association for legal professionals, the national association based in Tulsa Oklahoma, through its "@ Law" magazine, as well as e-Learn@NALS, E-News, WebEd webinars, and an on-line Learning center filled with education, news items, ethical reminders, and timely articles relating to changes to the profession.

NALS offers members and non-members the opportunity to study for and sit for three multi-state unique certifications dedicated to the legal services profession.  These exams are of varying levels and are developed by professionals in the industry.
